Papa Murphy’s Makes Newsweek List of America’s Favorite Restaurants
National accolades are common for this beloved take-and-bake pizza franchise, which continues to add franchise locations alongside a new store design
Owning and operating a small business can be tough to navigate alone, which is why many entrepreneurs return to franchising. They value the service, support and elevated brand presence they get in regional and national markets. That’s certainly true for Papa Murphy’s take-and-bake pizza franchise owners, who recently saw the brand highlighted in Newsweek magazine’s 2022 list of America’s favorite restaurant chains.
According to Newsweek, the awards were based on a survey that included more than 4,000 customers and employees of restaurant chains across the United States. Papa Murphy’s was a five-star entry in the pizza category, further proving what loyal fans and franchise owners already know, says Shemar Pucel, Senior Director of Franchise Development.
Unwavering Dedication To Customer Service Pays Dividends
“This is a huge honor for us, and it’s due to the hard work of the franchise owners and their teams who dedicate themselves to offering a warm, friendly and fun experience to every customer,” Pucel says. “Part of the Papa Murphy’s pizza franchise experience is interacting with the team, and when you have customers around the country giving you five stars, you’re succeeding in building that brand loyalty that leads to more frequent visits and the resulting revenue.”
The rating also reflects the moves Papa Murphy’s has made to create a more fulfilling virtual, or touchless, experience. Customers can create and pay for their order online, and then pick it up in a rack at the store. They still get the same great food and service, and in a way that they prefer — another reason why Papa Murphy’s continues to grow in popularity, Pucel notes.
New Store Design, Refreshed Brand Brings Excitement
“As part of our brand refresh, we created a new store design that has a dedicated area for people who want to order ahead and then swing by and pick up their food quickly and easily,” she explains. “That was hugely popular during the height of the pandemic, but we are seeing that even as things return to normal this option is still helping franchises build a lot of additional business.”
It’s just one way that Papa Murphy’s pizza franchise team listened to franchise owners, their teams and consumers when the new store layout was being designed. That kind of input has resulted in a brand that continues to delight visitors, resulting in a true community destination as well as a solidly performing business for the franchise owners.
